Register for business texting (10DLC and toll-free verification)
US carriers only deliver business texts from registered local numbers and verified toll-free numbers. Register once from the Texting page.
US carriers only deliver business texts from local numbers registered to a known business. Register once and every US local number in your workspace can text. Canadian numbers do not need this. Toll-free numbers are verified on their own. An owner or admin does both on the Texting page.
Register your business for local numbers
- Select Texting in the sidebar. The Register your business form is on the page.
- Under Business, enter the Legal business name, Business type, Industry, your EIN (or 9 digit business number in Canada), Website, Business email and Business phone. Use your details exactly as they appear on your tax records.
- Fill in the Address and the Authorized person, someone who can speak for the business.
- Under How you text, pick your Daily volume. Fewer than 6,000 texts a day is right for most businesses and is reviewed faster.
- Answer What you text customers about and How customers agree to get your texts, and add Your privacy policy link and Your terms link. Select See examples for wording carriers accept.
- Select Send to carriers.
What happens next
The page shows four steps: Business profile, Brand, Campaign and Texting on. The profile review takes from a few minutes to two business days, brand vetting usually a few minutes, and the campaign usually a few days. Select Check now to refresh the status.
- If something needs changes, the reason shows on the page. Select Update and send again.
- Once approved, the page says On since the approval date, and every US number in your workspace can text.
What it costs
- $79 one time, taken from your wallet when your registration goes to the carriers.
- $20 a month while texting is on.
- $20 to send a rejected campaign again, or to turn texting back on after you turned it off.
Verify a toll-free number
Toll-free numbers can call right away. Texting starts once the carriers verify the number, which is free.
- On the Texting page, find the number under Toll free numbers and select Verify.
- Fill in your business, address and contact, and pick the topics you text about.
- Under How customers agree to get your texts, pick Where they agree, describe it step by step and attach a screenshot or file that shows it.
- Select Send for verification. We email you when the carriers decide, usually within a few business days.
Once texting is on, replies such as STOP are handled for you. See Use the inbox to start texting, and the acceptable use policy for what carriers allow.
